How to Conceal and Hide Skin Imperfections
Many women feel they need to be rather heavy handed with foundation to hide skin imperfections. That “more is better” theory when it comes to foundation is in no way the best option to enhance your natural beauty. In fact in most cases, it is counter productive to achieving the desired end result. You need to embrace the “less is more” option. Most women only need a light coverage to look their best. Concealing is the beauty technique that will make the difference in your facial imperfections and enhance your best features.
Dark Circles under the eyes are of concern to many women. You will want to use your foundation teamed with a light reflecting white concealer to camouflage the problem.
Begin with a mixing a small amount of your white concealer with your foundation.
Apply the foundation mixture using a cosmetic wedged sponge.
Do not go more than a full shade lighter than your current foundation.
You will need to know that by using a heavy hand teamed with a shade that is too light for you will only result in “Racoon Eyes”. I know that you are aware of that picture. Not a pretty look.
Are you a woman that suffers from under- eye bags or puffiness? Interesting enough is that those concealing techniques used to hide dark circles will actually accentuate eye bags and puffiness. You will will want to purchase a deeper color than your foundation or search for a ginger color concealer.
Blend your foundation with a shade that is one to two shades deeper than your current foundation.
Use a cosmetic brush to apply it directly on top of the “puff area”.
Blend just lightly with your brush.
Apply lighter color (as recommended above) around the puffiness and blend in softly. inward with your brush.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind when concealing specific cosmetic imperfections.
Green Concealer will get rid of red in your skin. Keep in mind that if you don’t want to purchase a specific color of concealer you may just add a little eye shadow to you perfect little white concealer to address you specific needs.
Lavender Concealer gets rid of your sallow or yellow skin.
A lighter Vanilla concealer will confidently hid those nasty pimples or blemishes. Don’t forget that less is more. You don’t want that cakey, cracking look.
Keep in mind that Ginger or a Deeper concealer will diminish those dark circles.
