Computer Set
In order to use a wireless internet router, do I have to have a computer to set it up?
I was wondering if I could set it up with an iPod touch. I’ve changed the settings of networks before using my iPod but I’m not sure if I need a computer to operate a router.
By default, routers broadcast on an unencrypted SSID.
They work right out of the box though with no intervention.
The only catch is that half of your neighborhood will be leeching off of your access point.
Also, once you authenticate to this unencrypted access point you can bring up the router configuration page (typically 192.168.1.1) and configure it from within safari on the iPod touch.
