Computer Jack
My computer only has one jack for a monitor cable, is there any way to plug two monitor cables into one jack?
I want to use dual monitors but my computer only has one jack to plug in a VGA cable. Is there any way that I can plug two cables into one jack with some type of splitter or something?
Remember a VGA splitter cable will merely take the video signal meant for one monitor and duplicate it into two, so both monitors can only display the same thing. You will not be able to drive both monitors independently.
If you want to drive both monitors independently (be able to display different things on each), you need an add-on video card with two video outputs (assuming your computer has an AGP or PCIExpress 16x slot to accept a new video card).
Most add-on video cards on the market right now have dual video outputs, even budget cards like the nVidia 9500GT or the ATI HD4670.
